It was a busy short week in 2nd Grade!
Progress Reports:
In your child's blue folder or substitute folder, please find their 3rd Trimester Progress Report, Math Performance Task, and Spring NWEA report. Please review, sign, and return 1 copy of the Progress Report. Thank you!
Curriculum Highlights:
*ELA - We finished our Opinion Writing Testing for Trimester 3 and started our poetry unit.
*Biodiversity Unit- We talked about Earth Day, being good stewards to the Earth and one another, and started learning about the Rainforest.
*Math- In Math workshop, we reviewed counting money, practiced our math facts, and telling time to the minute.
*Stewardship in action - we wrote mini-posters of encouragement to Ms. Brunnmeier's and Mrs. Miksits' students as they begin CAASP testing this week. We also decorated their doors with a large poster of encouragement. And for those who wanted to participate, we filmed a flip grid video, too! Check it out here. It's pretty adorable!
Tri-fold Presentation Boards--Please turn in by Wednesday, May 8th:
*Please purchase one tri-fold presentation board (like the ones used for science fairs) for a project each student will be working on in class. Have your student bring it to class anytime between now and Wednesday, May 8th. Click here for some examples. These can be purchased online via sites like Amazon and in office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot, and I've also seen them at Michael's. If you can get one that has a solid color besides white, that would be ideal, but white is fine if it is your only choice. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way! Thank you for your support! It will be such a fun project!
