Many thanks to those who chaperoned Friday's field trip to the California Museum! Sincere apologies for the delayed bus departures; I know it was an inconvenience. Your flexibility and patience were so appreciated and modeling that for the children was a valuable lesson in itself. Thanks so much for your time and energy leading your charges around! A special shout out to Callie's mom for being our lead chaperone. It was wonderful to see our class engaged in so many parts of the museum, learning some great things about the great state and people (and horses!) of California. Here's a glimpse of the day:
NWEA testing this Monday 2/8 (Math) and Friday 2/12 (Language) from 10:10 - 11:50 am. Good sleep and breakfast, please!
Class Party: We are 50 points away from earning a class party. I am hoping, if we earn it, to schedule this on Friday 2/12 after last recess (from 1:40 - 3:00 pm). For those who want to participate in a Valentine/friendship card exchange, you may distribute them then. I am hoping to get everyone's permission to view Mr. Popper's Penguins then as well.
2nd Grade Quote of the Week:
During closing circle on Friday, Alexis tells us a little bit about her trip to Mexico. The class listens intently at first, then some start to fade due to fatigue from the field trip. She continues her story "...and then we went into a hot tub." This perks everyone up and we all seem to be one as we remark, "....Ahhh! Hot tub!"
Have a wonderful weekend and week!
