We are approaching one of my favorite times in 2nd grade--conferencing with parents as we look towards the horizon that is 3rd grade; and listening to our 2nd graders bring a difference maker to life in our Living Museum Showcase.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Looking at the online scheduler, I have 17 parent-teacher conferences scheduled (Thank you!). I am awaiting 5 more. If you haven't scheduled your parent-teacher conference with me yet, please do so ASAP. Click here for the link. The password is explorers. I look forward to chatting with you all about your almost-3rd grader and what they've accomplished in 2nd trimester!
Living Museum: Students have been working so hard in researching, drafting, and publishing their "autobiographical" scripts for the Living Museum. In your child's blue folder, please find a published parent copy for you to assist them in memorizing at home. We also have been practicing with partners in class; the more practice the better! Thanks for your partnership! We have several who are ready to go and have been inspiring others!

Curriculum Highlights: It was a busy assessment week in all areas, highlighted by listening to each 2nd grader read one-on-one. It's a great way to visit! We are working hard to ready ourselves for the Living Museum. We also read some Dr. Seuss books and a biographical article with our little buddies. We enjoyed the read aloud "The Lorax" and watched its movie, creating independently a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting the two.
Mark your calendars:
*Tuesday, 3/15 @ 9:00 - 9:40 am in the cafeteria-->2nd Grade Living Museum (Mrs. Wright's, Mrs. Wilson's and our classes)

First and Second Grade Buddy Picture of the Week:
"Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so... get on your way."--Dr. Seuss
Have a great week!
