Hope you all enjoyed some time with your children over the Break! It was great to see their smiling faces today!
A busy return to school...
We took our Spelling pre-test on contractions today and noted the patterns of all contractions. This Spelling test (#13) will be this Friday. Students can practice on Spelling City and I will carve out some time in class as well. We also started our Biodiversity unit, discussing Earth Day, reading "The Great Kapok Tree," and learning facts about the rainforest and the agouti. In Math, we played a cooperative game to review 2nd grade concepts covered in 3rd Trimester (before the Break). We earned Genius Hour/Terrific Tuesday Time (which is 15 minutes of a choice activity that makes you smarter or more creative).
Trimester 3 Progress Reports will be out this Friday. Please look for them in blue folders. Review, sign, and return 1 copy. Thank you!

May is Bike Month:
Students took home "May is Bike Month" brochures with pledge sheets contained within. Please take a look when you get a chance. Unlike previous years, you don't need to do any tracking or turning papers in. We are simply collecting pledges from the kids and giving them a t-shirt to participate. Students who don't turn in pledges by Monday, April 29th won't receive a shirt, so it's vital they turn them back in. If you have any questions, contact:

AS Live Clubs: The spring season of clubs is upon us! Our middle school students, parent volunteers, and community volunteers are preparing an array of options: arts and crafts, improv, soccer, and fishing! Click HERE to see which clubs are being offered for your student’s grade level and to enter your student in the lottery for a spot. If you’re interesting in chaperoning a club led by middle school students (a great way to earn volunteer hours and support the program), please email [email protected]. All clubs except for soccer need an adult chaperone.
That's all for now! Have a great week!
