February brings Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day, and President's Week--so many 2nd grade fun days to observe!
Great news: We've earned our next class party! Students would like it to be a Valentine's Party with a friendship card exchange. The exchange is optional, but if you choose to participate, please include all classmates. We have 21 students in our class. It may be helpful not to specifically address the cards with recipient names, just make sure your child signs his/her name on each card. Thank you!
We will have this celebration on Tuesday, February 14th, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. My plan is to have 5 stations set up with activities at each one. If you'd like to help out or donate items, please email me. Speaking of Valentine fun...
...be sure to look in your child's blue folder for your Secret Parent Project!
In a private moment, please take a look at the contents of the white envelope--this is your parent homework due on or before next Friday 2/10! Please read its contents and follow directions. Return sealed in the envelope it came in via your child's blue folder. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can assist in any way!
Curriculum Highlights:
*Second grade researchers have all chosen their Difference Maker and we have begun the research process. Please have your child talk to you about how it is going so far and where they are in the process. They are doing a fine job! Some of them need your help in securing additional biography books/material (borrow from the public library or purchase at Barnes and Noble or Amazon; print facts from a child-friendly website with your supervision). Research work will be conducted in class.
Thank you to Zackary's grandma, Mrs. Taylor, for your dedication to us on Wednesdays! We will miss you!
Have a great weekend, all!
