Grandparent’s Day Celebration: We would like to celebrate and learn from our grandparents!
This Wednesday, September 19th, from 9-10 AM, we would like to invite all grandparents/ grandparent-like figures to join us for a special morning hour of fun, learning, and visiting. Please sign up your family’s attendee by clicking here. You can also donate breakfast items or your time on this special day by clicking here.
Curriculum Highlights:
In Language Arts, we reviewed the Writing Process and continue to practice writing non-fiction small moment narratives. We also learned about the editing marks we use on our drafts and practiced editing. In Math we took our first Performance Task and learned about surveys, data, and types of graphs. In Social Studies, we launched our Families Unit and practiced our songs for Grandparents' Day. We continue to talk about September's Core Value of Respect and learned about Self-Awareness. We enjoyed some Buddy Time with our 5th grade buddies!

2nd Grade Quote of the Week:
Elijah is holding the door as students are retrieving their snacks from their backpacks to dine outside for our "Six Minute Snack" period after recess. Some are slow at this task, so Elijah starts saying, "In and out! In and out!" to hurry his classmates along. Amir turns to Elijah and responds, "In and Out? I love that place!"
Have a great weekend and week!
