It's been a week where many of us (including yours truly) have been battling allergies, colds, and Spring Fever! So proud that we have been showing this month's core value--Perseverance!
Thank you for the birthday wishes, cards, and gifts I received Monday! Such a pleasant surprise! Thank you also to Cassius' mom, Zackary's grandma, and Alena's mom for their help these past couple weeks in class. So thankful for your help!
*Progress Reports went out yesterday in blue folders. Please review, sign, and return 1 copy. I will be sending home Math Money tests and Addition/Subtraction Fact tests on Monday for you to view. Please sign and return these tests so students can record their data in their binders.
*Field Trip this Friday! This info letter went home in blue folders yesterday. I am awaiting a couple more permission slips. Ten of you expressed interest in chaperoning this field trip; I will be emailing you separately. Thank you!
*May Is Bike Month--I've asked the students to try to ride their bikes this weekend for at least 10 minutes (1 trip) so they can earn a nifty "Love my Bike" T-shirt! We are all going to try!
*Travel Unit update--students are working hard researching, pre-writing, writing, and assembling their tri-fold boards! I will be emailing some of you pictures that your researcher would like printed out to add to their board. I will also try to see if I can request color prints from the Pebblewood campus, but it might be tricky to get an efficient turnaround during this very busy time of year! Please let me know if color printing is not possible for you--I will try to see what I can do to make it happen!
*Wish List--Chlorox wipes, Kleenex, bottles of water

Ways to Westlake: We are just over a week away from our Practice Your Way to Westlake Day! One important update is that staff from the City of Sacramento Traffic Department will be surveying our pedestrian and bike traffic that morning to evaluate the potential need of adding crosswalks. Even if you are already confident in your Way to Westlake for next year, please participate on May 13th in hopes of getting extra crosswalks for our students.

That's all for now! Have a wonderful weekend and week!
