Many thanks to all the veterans out there and those that are no longer with us. We are so thankful for your service to our country! This newsletter is dedicated to you all!
Thank you to Adeline's and Lailah's families for the soil and cups! Looking forward to planting with the kids this week! Also, thank you to Conrad's and Davin's families for the class gifts and treats. So thoughtful and generous!
Conferences and Early Dismissal this week!
I am looking forward to meeting with parents to discuss your children's 1st Trimester in 2nd Grade. We will meet in our classroom D104. Let me know if you need a reminder of when your appointment is. Also, I am still awaiting 2 families to book a conference. If I can assist you with this in any way, please email me! Thank you!

From WAVE: The Olympic Triathlon is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It isn’t just about fundraising but is also about celebrating what sets us apart from so many other schools: Our three specialties of Art, PE and Spanish! This year we will be fundraising to customize our beautiful new campus with things like shade, soccer goals and bike racks.
On Thursday, November 30th our students will participate in a special day of learning on the Olympic Triathlon Event Day. This day is completely staffed and planned by our parent volunteers alongside some fabulous WCS staff members. We need your help to make this day fun and successful for our school and students. If you would like to get involved with planning please contact Amber Hustead, WAVE President, at [email protected].
Have you had a chance to checkout our new online donation system? You are able to personalize a family donation site to send to friends and family, post on social media or show to co-workers in the office. Please visit http://pledgestar.com/westlakecharter to set up your family donation page.
Our school wide goal is to have each student contribute $180 which represents $1 for every day of school. We encourage families to give what they can whether it is less or more than the goal amount. We are striving for 100% participation from all students to contribute at least $5 towards our Olympic Triathlon Fundraising efforts.
We will be collecting checks and cash at the Maybrook entrance on Tuesday mornings from 8-8:40am. Students will receive prizes and recognition based on online and in person donations.
2nd Grade Quote of the Week:
In the spirit of responsibility and good manners, I encourage the 2nd grade boys to act as gentlemen to their female classmates. One afternoon after chrome book time while we we cleaning up and putting away our chrome books, Alyson approached me and confided, "Mrs. A, I wanted to let you know that Adam was acting like a gentleman! He put away my chrome book for me!"
That's all for now! Thanks for your ongoing support! Have a great week!
Mrs. A
