I'd like to dedicate this newsletter to the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. whose life and words changed our history and our lives in such a positive way. He is truly one of my heroes!
This week, we launched our People Who Made a Difference unit! We were visited by 5 famous women who told us about their lives! They were Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Jane Goodall, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, and Bessie Coleman! Pretty amazing!
We chose the famous person we would like to dedicate our time to research, write about, and represent in our annual "Living Museum" showcase (March date TBA). Though the majority of the work will be conducted in class, please support your researcher at home by encouraging them to read their famous person's biography and assemble a costume. Thank you!

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. --Martin Luther King, Jr.
